Puerto Rico Changes Travel Restrictions

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, has modified the Covid-19 restrictions in his new executive order that went into effect May 24.  The changes in the restrictions include, the elimination of Covid-19 PCR molecular test requirements for fully vaccinated travelers on domestic flights.

Puerto Rico has prioritized health and safety from the beginning of the pandemic by enforcing a curfew, and other measures to safeguard residents and visitors.  There has been an increase of tourists and hotel occupancy compared to 2019.  This trend is expected to continue, as restrictions are relaxed.

Puerto Rico a U.S. territory, is an attractive destination, due to the ease of travel, where no passport is required for U.S. Citizens.  Economic reports indicate the increase in tourist demand to Puerto Rico, could get Puerto Rico on track to a full economic recovery this year.
