Stricter Covid Testing At San Juan, Puerto Rico Airport
Puerto Rico will formally reopen for in-bound tourism on July15. The Governor, Wanda Vazquez Garced, will make taking test stricter for all travelers who come to the island, due to the increase in outbreaks of Covid -19. Travelers arriving in San Juan, Puerto Rico will have to wear a mask and bring proof of a negative Covid -19 test carried out 72 hours before arriving to the island. Those that don't have the test results on hand, they will have to keep a mandatory 14 - day quarantine and perform a molecular test of the virus in a laboratory on the island. If the molecular test result is negative, then they may be released from quarantine. The National Guard will continue to conduct voluntary screening of passengers, so those who don't bring a negative Covid -19 test result may be tested. If the result of the test is negative, the person must still keep a 14-day quarantine.
A curfew in Puerto Rico is still in effect until July 22. The curfew is from 10:00PM - 5:00AM, except for emergencies. Face masks remain mandatory when in public and social distancing is enforced. Sunbathing, and other recreational activities on beaches are allowed, and spas, museums, and theaters are open. Restaurants are operating at 75% and casinos at 75%.
