Hacienda Lealtad Gets Ecotourism Certification In Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico Tourism Company has granted Hacienda Lealtad the ecotourism certification. Hacienda Lealtad is a boutique hotel, based on Puerto Rico's coffee tradition, located in the town of Lares, Puerto Rico. The mountain resort has 20 rooms, a wine cellar, and a restaurant.
To be certified, the location or event must include an agricultural activity or considerable agro processes.
Hacienda Lealtad property has 1000 acres planted with coffee, where the cultivation, processing, roasting, packaging of coffee, and sales takes place. Hacienda Lealtad offers tours that focus on educating about coffee and encouraging local agriculture.
Hacienda Lealtad has a café, La Hacienda’s Café bistro, where visitors can enjoy a meal, pastries, organic juices made with locally grown products, and drink some coffee.

Monica Puig Wins Gold Medal For Puerto Rico
Congratulations to Puerto Rican, Monica Puig, for winning the gold medal in tennis, at the Rio 2016 Olympics. This is the first time Puerto Rico has won a gold medal at the Olympics.
Monica Puig made one of the biggest upsets by defeating Germany's Angelique Kerber in the final of the women's single in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
Puig was ranked 34th in the world, and had never reached the last eight of a major tournament.

Hotels In San Juan, Puerto Rico Receive WellHotel Certification
The Caribe Hilton and The Condado Plaza Hotel have received a WellHotel™ certification in Puerto Rico. Both hotels completed an intensive training and evaluation program offered through the Medical Tourism Association and The Puerto Rico Medical Tourism Corporation.
The WellHotel certification program offers a unique curriculum that fosters effective interaction among hotel administrative and service personnel with patients, medical providers, and ground operators. The Caribe Hilton and Condado Plaza participated in the WellHotel training program that ensured their services were responsive to medical guests from safety requirements and interpersonal communication to cultural sensitivity protocols and disease prevention practices.
The Puerto Rico Medical Tourism is campaigning to market the healthcare services in Puerto Rico to international patients. This is expected to create some 3,000 jobs. In addition to The Caribe Hilton and The Condado Plaza, other hotels in Puerto Rico are expected to complete the WellHotel certification requirements.

Decanter Hotel Opens In Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
The Decanter Hotel, has opened in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Decanter Hotel is a restored 19th century colonial-style building, in the heart of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The boutique hotel has three floors and 20 rooms.
Eight of the rooms at the 15,222-square-foot Decanter Hotel are suites with their own kitchenettes. The hotel also has a restaurant, L'Osteria, and an open wine cellar on the building’s central courtyard.
The Decanter Hotel is located on the corner of San José and Luna streets in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Ruta Platanera in Corozal, Puerto Rico

Ojo de Agua Posada In Rincon, Puerto Rico
The Puerto Rico Tourism Company announced the construction of Ojo de Agua, a posada in Rincon, Puerto Rico. At a cost of 3.8 million, Ojo de Agua, will be a 16 - room hotel with a water theme in its design an decor.
Ojo de Agua Posada will be located in the center of Rincon and the amenities will include a restaurant, pool, concession area, and meeting rooms. Ojo de Agua is a short distance from Rincon beach, a popular surfing destination.
Posadas are themed inns whose decoration, design and atmosphere, are designed to represent the history and culture of the cities and towns in Puerto Rico.
