AirTran starts flight service from Tampa to Puerto Rico
AirTran Airways has started a new daily nonstop service between Tampa International Airport and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico. Tampa is not the only option for nonstop service to San Juan. AirTran Airways also offers direct flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico from Atlanta, Baltimore and Orlando. With the added route, fliers will find getting to Puerto Rico and Tampa easier than ever.
These are the daily nonstop flights currently available from AirTran Airways between Tampa and San Juan: Flight 380 Tampa to San Juan — 7:30 a.m., Flight 388 Tampa to San Juan — 1:44 p.m., Flight 381 San Juan to Tampa —11 a.m., Flight 389 San Juan to Tampa — 8:19 p.m.
Direct Air adds flights to Puerto Rico
Starting in November, 2011, Direct Air will add flights to San Juan. Direct Air based in South Carolina, flies out of 18 markets around the East Coast including regional airports in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Florida and Pennsylvania. Direct Air service will include twice-weekly direct flights between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Worcester, MA, and San Juan, Puerto Rico and Niagara Falls, N.Y.
The Company will also offer flights that start in Plattsburgh, N.Y. with a stop in Orlando West/Lakeland, FL, before continuing on to San Juan. The new flights will give more options to travelers flying to Puerto Rico. Tickets for the flights to Puerto Rico are on sale now at Direct Air’s website at $99 each way.
JetBlue will start a San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Maarten route
JetBlue Airways is expanding in Puerto Rico by starting a nonstop daily service from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Maarten. With the addition of these flights, JetBlue Airways, the largest carrier in Puerto Rico, is making it even easier to travel between San Juan and neighboring Caribbean islands. This new route, subject to government approval, will provide connections to St. Maarten from New York’s John F. Kennedy, Boston’s Logan, Orlando International, and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airports. Service to St. Maarten will be operated by JetBlue’s Embraer E190 aircraft.
Flights between San Juan and St. Maarten will go on sale soon, with service to begin November 17, 2011. These flights will bring more options, while traveling throughout the Caribbean region.
